Fairstone Group Board Meeting.

7.00am flight from Heathrow to Newcastle. Just over 12 hours since I had left the airport the previous day following a week’s holiday in Edinburgh. The plane was late but we arrived bang on time for the meeting.

We spent most of the day discussing strategy using a substantial, and in my view excellent, pack which had been distributed a couple of weeks ago. The opportunities for Fairstone and indeed for other professional independent advisers and wealth mangers are very clear. And so are the challenges. As chair of the Risk Committee, I have the latter at the back of my mind but it is the former that make the board meetings so encouraging and stimulating.

Another long day. My flight back was at 8.10 pm.!
