Potential acquisition
An important meeting at the Fairstone Group London office on July 19th. As a non-exec, I joined colleagues to meet up with the owner, and the managing director of a company that we may acquire. Such a transaction has ramifications for all stakeholders including of course clients. And both parties needed to be sure a deal would create the best possible outcomes.
All the numbers have been crunched, most of the due diligence completed and everything looks good. But what about culture? This is a key issue for Fairstone, particularly given that this is a relatively large deal. It’s also key for the other party. So, at the most senior level we looked each other in the eyes and talked things through.
I’m pleased to say it went well. Seems to me we were all on the same page; striving for high standards of professionalism and keen to learn from each other. I’ll update this post when there is further news.
