When I read that JPMorgan had acquired Nutmeg for £700m, I thought that number might be a typo. £70m seemed a possible price. £700m seemed unbelievable.

Nutmeg has lost money every year since launch. And the scale of those losses has increased each year. As for their plans to include advisers in their proposition; it’s at least five years since they launched that initiative. Nothing to show for it as far as I can see.

Of course, JPM can afford to take a long term view as far as their UK strategy and investments are concerned. But how long?

I did some research and asked: How long does it take to harvest nutmeg? The answer: Nutmegs take eight years after sowing to yield fruit. They reach their prime in 25 years and bear fruit for 60 years or longer.

So maybe JPM are onto something. Or maybe not.

I would highly recommend this 10/10 Great read, exciting and gripping looking forward to the next book.

A real page turner, cannot wait for the next one. And some more names of bars and restaurants to visit.

An excellent well researched fast moving novel which keeps one on the edge of their seat until the final pages

Well worth picking up and once done impossible to put down.

I am so looking forward to the next book in The Terrible People series. The characters are well crafted, the main character, William is very engaging however I am a little bit concerned about the state of his liver! An interesting fast-paced thriller with some twists and turns, however there are some pages which are not for the faint-hearted … but so well written.

A faint-hearted soul, I was absolutely terrified by Dirty Money, Terrible People, but I couldn’t put it down. A well told tale with many twists and turns, full of colour and strong characters. I was glad of the short chapters as they gave me chance to come up for air but then I was straight back into this scary, fast-paced thriller. Would I return to this author; absolutely. Can’t wait for the second book in the series. What a debut.

I’ll admit that I took a punt on this book based on the stunning cover design, BUT, wow … this is a story that will grab you and simply WILL NOT LET YOU GO. It’s not for the faint hearted, but if you like a pulsating thriller that has guts, then I’d thoroughly recommend it. A knockout first-in-series, and Mr Kerr is most certainly on my radar for book two!

A real page turner. Pretty gruesome in places but once you start reading it you can’t put it down.  At times I had to force myself to do so because it was gone 1:am and I had to get some sleep!  A great debut novel. Looking forward to the next one.

The book was published four weeks ago and when I Googled the title today I have to say I was delighted with the coverage.

I have yet to get to grips with the Amazon application which tells me how many sales have been made. I’ll report back in January.

An unexpected benefit of writing the book is that several people with whom I had lost contact have been in touch. So, all in all, it has turned out to be a very rewarding project!

I confess that when I saw there was a review of my book on Amazon I took a deep breath before I looked at it. When I did I was absolutely delighted. And the next one was just as positive.

“Dirty Money Terrible People” is finally published.

I confess that I was truly excited to see it on Amazon yesterday.To be honest, the hard work started after I thought I had finished. But it has been a great project and I am already half-way through the sequel.

It’s fiction. Not an expose of UK financial services and “Big Four” (“Big Three” in the book!) accountants. Although some of the situations and some of the characters are quite authentic.

I asked a good friend and brilliant wordsmith to give me an honest review for the website. And here it is:

Amazingly readable. You might not expect much from a novel about a firm of accountants carrying out an audit on a bank in the City.  But you would be spectacularly wrong.  Be guided instead by that cracking title:  This is a fast-moving, intricately-plotted, exciting thriller punctuated by scenes of terrifying violence and quantities of sex, drugs and a slightly lesser amount of rock’n’roll. I can confidently state that there has never been a more enjoyable read to be set in the world of accountancy!
