Money Marketing Awards 2018

A wonderful evening in the HAC marquee last night, with a funfair outside and lots of fun inside. I was lucky enough to be on a great table, sitting next to Justin Cash (Money Marketing Editor) on one side and the remarkable Henry Tapper (CEO First Actuarial) on the other. Later on, Henry received the “Outstanding Contribution to the Profession ” award for galvanising the pro bono advice offered to British Steel employees who were struggling to make sense of their new pensions options.

Other awards included: Vanguard for Best Investment Fund Group, Nucleus for Best Platform, LifeSearch for Best Protection Adviser, LEBC for Best Retirement Adviser and Bankhall for Best Support Service. Royal London won the award for Company of the Year. No surprise there; they are punching way over their weight.

It was lovely to chat with many old friends and colleagues and I was able to relax, and drink some excellent wine. Unlike last year when I had to give a speech at about eleven o clock and present the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to the Profession award. I can’t believe that was twelve months ago. Time flies when you are having fun!
