KPMG reunion
Lovely evening on November 8th at St Brides Tavern in Bridewell Place, Blackfriars, London. It was organised by Brendan Meehan who was my original boss at KPMG and there were many old colleagues that I hadn’t seen for more than fifteen years. It was particularly good to meet up with Paul Moore, the partner that left the firm to join HBOS and blew the whistle on their business practices. If you want to learn more then read the book he wrote after he was fired. “Crash, Bang, Wallop!”
Coincidentally, the event was almost exactly twenty years to the day I joined KPMG and I really enjoyed thanking Brendan and Paul Bishop for taking a chance on me. It’s not often that a fifty year old gets to join a “Big Four” firm with no consulting experience whatsoever. And walking to the pub I passed the building where I so proud to work in the early days. It’s now a Premier Inn. Such is life!
