“Dirty Money. Terrible People.”

My book is finished. For the third time!

Don’t worry; “Dirty Money. Terrible People” is  not an expose’ of the UK financial services market. It’s fiction about money laundering and a global accountancy practice. It’s pretty violent. Some people take a long time to die.

The first time I finished the book was about this time last year and I was fortunate to find an agent prepared to read it. (I gather that if such a book doesn’t resonate after 300 words it is put aside).

All agents have a backlog and new writers are at the back of the queue. It was last September when I received feedback. “It has potential, it is clear you enjoyed writing it, but you need to change X, Y, Z and get an editor”. I changed X, Y, Z (which wasn’t much fun), finished the book for the second time and sent it to the editor.

All decent editors have a backlog as well. It was February this year when I got my book back. And there was still so much to change that I got RSI in my right arm. (Even less fun) But, today it is finished for the third time and final time. And it has gone back to my agent.

The good news is that I have been writing a sequel while waiting!
