Claims Experience

I got a call from a very old friend who is suffering from Parkinson’s and having some problems with his healthcare provider. Unusually his insurance covers chronic illnesses such as Parkinson’s but he had been told that his claim had been turned down. Sadly, his condition is such that he needs some help in dealing with the situation so of course I was happy to see what I could do. The insurer was AXA. The annual premium for my pal and his wife was about £25,000.

I have been involved with the insurance industry for most of my career and I have to say that my initial dealings with AXA made me ashamed. It also made me angry. I could waste your time taking you through the process; sufficient to say that until I escalated the case AXA scored nil out of ten. Talk about a learning experience!
