Platform Conference

3rd October 2019

I chaired a panel session at the Platforum ID conference in London on October 2nd. Four excellent experts:

  • Sir Steve Webb; Director of Policy and External Relations, Royal London
  • Gerald Rehn; Head of International Product & Governance, BNY Mellon
  • William Allport; Senior Strategist Vanguard
  • Adrian Boulding; Chief Innovation Officer, Spire Platform Solutions

The topic was Retirement Income and I hope the delegates enjoyed it as much as I did. We had some interesting questions and discussions and all the panellists really knew their stuff.  I learnt a great deal and I hope the delegates did as well.

The conference was very well attended but, as usual in the long term savings and investment market, there was an incredible lack of diversity. My quick count suggested that over 80% of the audience were male and white. Disappointing to say the least!
